Trump Apprentice Kelly Perdew Gears up for New Venture with Donald Trump and Breakout Book On Military Leadership Principles for Business
“Every great leader first has to learn how to take command. In this excellent book, my Apprentice, Kelly Perdew, shows how military principles can guide you to success.” — Donald Trump
Washington, DC — When Donald Trump told Kelly Perdew, “You’re hired,” in the finale of season two of The Apprentice, Perdew credited much of his success to one thing—his U.S. military training. In his new book, Take Command, Perdew demonstrates how his personal formula for success can help anyone succeed in any venture, be it serving our country, running a small business, acting as the CEO of a large corporation, or working for Donald Trump!
The book, which will be released January 23rd, entitled Take Command: 10 Leadership Principles I Learned in the Military and Put to Work for Donald Trump, examines the strong connection between military leadership and business success and offers an insider’s look at Donald Trump, the leader. Perdew wrote the book to educate corporate America on the leadership principles that are instilled in veterans as well as let transitioning military servicemen and women know they’ve “got the skills to pay the bills” in the civilian sector. Kelly will also share insights from former military leaders turned business superstars.
Contributors to Take Command include:
Jim Kimsey (USMA, Founding CEO of AOL)
Ross Perot (USNA, Founder Perot Systems)
Bill Coleman (USAFA, Founding CEO of BEA Systems)
Roger Staubach (USNA, CEO Staubach Company)
Pete Dawkins (USMA, Vice Chair Citigroup Private Bank)
Marsha Evans (USN, Former CEO of the Red Cross)
Perdew, who graduated from West Point as a Military Intelligence Officer and earned his Airborne wings and Ranger Tab, knows that the most important decisions in war and business are made based on intensive planning with less than 100% perfect information. That is a leadership skill at which Donald Trump excels, and is one of many leadership lessons that Perdew teaches in Take Command.
In addition to Perdew’s break-out book, he is launching a new business with Donald Trump called Trump Exclusives to debut in March 2006 in New York City and roll out across the U.S. throughout the year. He will also be hosting a new show on the Military Channel called G.I. Factory which will premiere on March 24th 2006.
Donald Trump provided the foreword to the book, and Kelly Perdew will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the USO.
